In this Physics (Digital Electronics) video lecture in Hindi for class 12 we explained the Voltage - Current characteristics of p-n junction diode. Further we explained knee voltage and breakdown (or Zener) voltage. When a pn junction diode is connected forward bias, initially, upto 'potential barrier' current grows slowly with voltage. After reaching 'knee voltage' current grows in considerable amount with voltage. When a pn junction diode is connected reverse bias, initially, upto 'breakdown voltage' current grows very very slowly with voltage. After reaching 'breakdown voltage' current grows very high and the diode becomes inoperative. This process of breaking down of a junction diode is known as 'Avalanche breakdown'.
In this video, the n-channel and p-channel Depletion-Type MOSFET (Construction, working, Characteristics and Symbols ) have been explained.
A few solved problems (all examples in Sedra and Smith) are solved in the video. Hopefully, it serves as a primer for you to learn solving MOSFET DC circuits. We will be assuming that you know how to solve these problems when we come to class.
